The maximum embroidery field for the CCF is 2. There should be some resistance when pulling the cap frame off the gauge. Slide the shaft support mount into the lower arm extrusion and toward the back of the machine until it contacts the hard stop. Hook the latch on the strap into the hook on the latch post. Then attach the raised needle plate by securely tightening the screws in place. If the cap has turned and is no longer centered, the cap position can be adjusted before latching the buckle. You may now remove the cap frame from the gauge.

The cap frame strap may need crame be adjusted if it does not fit the cap snugly. You may need to fold or adjust the sweatband of the cap slightly to accommodate the hook and latch. This will move the machine to an easier position for installing the cap driver.
For example, “Graphite CCF”. You will need to use enough backing so that the backing covers the embroidery application area. Pull the side of the sweatband toward the cap frame and down, and smooth any bunching of the cap sides or sweatband.
If attached, remove the hoop arms from the machine. See the vap section for instructions on how to test and adjust. This will make hooping and sewing the cap much easier. Leaving your right hand free to perform the next step, grasp and gather the sweat band with your left hand and pull it downward to snug the front of the cap tightly around the cap frame supports.
Prepare the cap for sewing. Unscrew them and remove the arms. Do not over-tighten the screws as they are designed to break before damage to the machine can occur. A few drops of sewing machine oil should be applied to the lower support shaft prior to the initial installation of the driver ring assembly. The bill should also be relatively centered on the frame. If sewing on the sides of the cap, smooth the cap material backward and over the clip posts on both sides. It is also beneficial, but not necessary, to move the machine to either needle 8 or needle 9.
Obtain the cap and turn the sweat band completely out as shown.
Installing & Removing the Red Wide Angle Driver
Reattach the hook guard by sliding it back into place and tightening the two screws using a 2mm hex wrench. To install the needle plate, simply remove the regular needle plate by removing the screws holding it in place. Select the cap frame that corresponds to your driver. Slide the cap frame onto the cap gauge. The buckle should be tight. On the front of the cap, the teeth of the strap should fall into the seam for mepco brim.
Re-tighten the wings nuts while holding the strap tight against the cap. Tighten the two knobs. Near the back of the cap, the sweatband may be sewn into the cap.
If hoop definition is not selected properly, severe equipment damage may result.
Amaya Melco Wide Angle Cap Frame 34036
Starting with a 6mm allen wrench, remove the thumbscrews attaching the red driver assembly to the x-carriage. To make hooping fast and easy, use the cap gauge supplied in the Wide Angle Cap Frame option. Insert the cap visor into the slot in the cap frame strap as you swing the strap over the front of the cap. The red driver ring should slide easily over the lower arm of the machine and should allow for a business card or two to fit between the ring and the lower arm.
Appropriate backing can now be placed over the gauge — we recommend using the tear-away cap backing when sewing caps. Slide the strap toward the wind nut to remove the excess.
Conventional Cap Frame
Remove the hook guard by loosening the screws on both sides of the lower arm using a 2mm hex wrench, and sliding the hook guard forward. Hook the latch on the strap into the hook on the latch post. Notice the orientation of the ring in the picture.
